About Vodafone Mobile Broadband software

When you buy a Vodem, or USB stick, you will need to install a version of the Vodafone Mobile Broadband (VMB) software for your computer.

Each Vodem comes with the software, so when you plug it into your computer, a disk icon will appear on your desktop, which you can then double click, follow the onscreen instructions to complete setting it up.

The software gets your computer online via the mobile network, and it allows you to manage your Vodafone account, and send and receive TXT messages straight from your computer

If you've upgraded your computer but not your Vodem, then check if you have the latest Mobile Broadband software for your machine.

Checking which version of Vodafone Mobile Broadband software you have

Start Vodafone Mobile Broadband
In the Vodafone Mobile Broadband software menu, select ‘Help’ and then ‘Diagnostics’
Open the tab ‘Device’
The firmware version is listed as ‘Revision number’.

To remove the Vodafone Mobile Broadband application:

Open Applications/Vodafone Utilities
Double-click ‘VMB Uninstaller’
Select ‘Remove application only’ to uninstall the application but retain your settings and data (eg.
SMS messages). Or, alternatively, select ‘Remove everything’ to uninstall the application and delete
your settings and data
Confirm your selection by clicking ‘Yes’
Enter your Administrator password to allow the Uninstaller to run

Removing VMB software

If you are having trouble installing a newer release of the Vodafone Mobile Broadband app on a computer with the Microsoft Windows operating system, you may be able to resolve any problems by using this Cleanup tool.

The Cleanup tool removes the following types of files, created by an older release of the app, which the new release is not allowed to remove:

Data - SMS text messages and contacts
Settings - SMS, VPN, mobile connection, account, usage, network provider, connection management and other application settings
Device registrations - Vodafone device information created in the Windows system, including Registry entries.

To use the Vodafone Mobile Broadband Cleanup Tool

Unzip the package
Double-click the file called ‘VmbCleanup.exe’
Follow the on-screen instructions.
