Wolf’s upgrade to its standard model is a professional level bassoon that plays with a beautiful and even intonation across its entire range. It is manufactured using premium flamed maple.
Main product description
The Wolf S2000 Plus is an upgraded version of the standard professional model bassoon from Guntram Wolf. The instrument plays with a beautiful and even intonation across its entire whole range.
The standard Wolf S2000 is made from mountain maple that has been matured over many years, finished with a durable matt-finish synthetic lacquer. More specifically the S2000 Plus is made from premium, specially selected, highly figured, flamed maple. All the finger holes have ebonite liners that extend into the bore. The body is fabricated using CNC equipment, designed for maximum precision and consistency in the production process.
The flat springs, axles and pointed screws are all made of stainless steel for maximum longevity and value. The key work is silver-plated to protect the ever increasing number of people with nickel allergies. All the keys without long rods are fitted with a system patented by Wolf to ensure that there will be no rattling, even if keys become misaligned.
Howarth supplies all Wolf bassoons with a ‘lupobag’ gig bag, with a removable pouch for sheet music, a Kölbl sling and silk pull-throughs, cork grease, reed box and two silver-plated nickel crooks, lengths 2 and 3.

About makerHonda S2000
Guntram Wolf is a manufacturer of modern and historical woodwind instruments in Kronach, Germany. In the mid-80’s, the company started to develop smaller and lighter instruments tailored to the needs of smaller children, achieving great success with the Fagottini. The company also developed along with Benedikt Eppelsheim the Contraforte, an interesting equivalent to the contrabassoon which allows greater control over intonation and dynamics. After Guntram himself passed away in 2013, his children Peter and Claudia Wolf took over the management of the company.
